WW2 to 1967

Palestine and Israel Part 3
2

Try as I might, it’s been difficult to keep this episode short. I will endeavour to do better next time, but no promises, ok? Today we will be taking another look at some of the history behind what’s happening in Gaza. WW2 has drawn to a close, and the state of Israel has finally been realised. The region is in a mess, and tensions remain at boiling point. Another war breaks out, this time between the newly established state of Israel, and the Arab nations. Skirmishes and fighting continue throughout the 1950’s and the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) is formed. Egypt’s President at the time decides to flex their military muscle and marches towards Israel. It is 1967 and despite great effort by the United Nations, peace is nowhere to be seen.
